libgsound-dev software package provides small library for playing system sounds (devel), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libgsound-dev
libgsound-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libgsound-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libgsound-dev *
You will get with libgsound-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
